To play three card poker, you will need a standard deck of cards which consists of 52 playing cards.

First, there is the Play/Ante game. This part of the game is where you compete with the dealer and you try to outrank his cards and the highest hand. Another aspect of the three card poker game is the Pair Plus game. This is a point in the game where you contemplate and bet as to whether or not you will be given a better set of cards.
As you know, betting rules for play three card poker vary from one casino to the other but most casinos (online and land-based) will ask you to bet on either the Play/Ante game or the Pair Plus. However, there will be some casinos that will require you to make a wager on both or will require you to make the ante bet before you can bet on the Pair Plus part of the game.
How the play three card poker is done:
When you play three card poker, you will see three betting circles that are in front of each player. A label reading “Pair Plus” will be written on the top betting circle. This is where the player will have to put his bet when it comes to the pair plus portion.
Under the Pair Plus betting circle are two more circles. One is called Ante and the other is Play, which is for the base game.
The game will start when the player drops his bet and makes a wager for the Pair Plus or the Ante Circle, following the minimum amount of cash needed to be wagered.
Once all the people who participated in playing three card poker are done with their bets, the dealer will proceed to give the players three card hands. These cards are not manually shuffled but are mixed by the Shuffle Master machine. The play starts when the first player sitting on the dealer’s left places his bet. The players are asked to place their wagers in a clockwise manner.
What happens to when the Ante/Play is made?
If a player chooses to bet on the ante, that player must decide if he wants to fold or play, this is asked after the player sees the distributed cards. If the player folds, he cancels out the ante wager. However, if the player continues then he or she will be asked to give additional bet and level up by playing in the Play circle.
